Big Chess began with a single question: what would chess look like if you started from scratch, with all the accumulated wisdom of 1,500 years of play, and a completely blank board?

The answer is a game played on a grand 10×10 board, with an entirely new piece — the Clone, which combines the sweeping range of a Bishop with the unpredictable leap of a Knight. Ten pawns per side, three-square castling, and an expanded en passant rule create a richer strategic landscape without abandoning the soul of traditional chess.
